A 57-year-old man has been arrested in Parys for possession of suspected stolen property.
The Parys SAPS, in collaboration with the Welkom DPCI, Sasolburg K9, Provincial FLASH, Eskom, Telkom, Parys Municipality, and Fezile Dabi District DOCC members, conducted a successful joint operation.
The operation, carried out at a scrap metal yard in King Street, Parys, led to the seizure of copper cables valued at approximately R6 552.00. The cables, suspected to have been stolen from Telkom, Eskom, and the local municipality, were discovered stored in a room on the premises.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Parys Magistrate’s Court soon, on charges of possession of suspected stolen property.
