Two suspects have been arrested in Apel for possession of suspected stolen livestock. Police recovered 19 goats during the incident. The recovered goats have since been positively identified by their lawful owners.
The SAPS makes an appeal to livestock owners to practice preventative measures to prevent #StockTheft. Livestock owners should properly mark their livestock, according to the Animal Identification Act, 2002 (Act No 6 of 2002). If an animal is marked with a registered brand mark or tattoo, disputes will be avoided.
