The fight to eradicate the distribution of drugs in our communities yielded success on Monday, 01 December 2025, when Operation Shanela II deployments arrested suspects for the possession of drugs in separate incidents.
The members deployed in Ravensmead, searched a premises in Rose Street, where they found 62 mandrax tablets, 24 small packets containing crystal meth and an undisclosed amount of cash in the house. A 42-year-old male was arrested for the possession of drugs.
In Manenberg the members searched a premises in Elsieskraal Street where they confiscated 70 small packets containing crystal meth. They arrested a 23-year-old male for the possession of crystal meth.
At another premises in Elsieskraal Street, the members arrested a 32-year-old male when they found 39 mandrax tablets while searching the premises. The suspect faces a charge for the possession of mandrax.
The suspects will make their respective court appearances in the Goodwood and Athlone Magistrates’ courts on Tuesday, 02 December 2025.
