A 39-year-old Zimbabwean national, employed as a truck driver was stabbed during a robbery on Venus Road in Riet River – KZN earlier today (Thursday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene at approximately 00:41 and met with the complainant. He stated that he proceeded to purchase a cool drink and something to eat.
On his return, he was approached by approximately six (6) suspects, one (1) of whom was armed with a knife. The suspects demanded cash and his cellphone before robbing him of the following items:
• Nokia cellphone
• R400 cash
• A bag containing bank cards
Before fleeing on foot, one (1) of the suspects stabbed the victim once on his shoulder. He was thereafter transported privately to hospital for medical treatment.
Reaction Officers conducted a search for the suspects, but no arrests were made.
