WESTERN CAPE – Following recent housebreaking incidents in Simonstown and Fishoek, the SAPS intelligence team gathered information and on Thursday, 08 January 2026, at around 05:40, members of the Flying Squad were on the trail. They pulled over a white Toyota Fortuner with three male occupants. During the search, they found a laptop, a phone and household items, and were informed that another house was broken into in Simonstown. The three suspects were arrested for possession of stolen property and housebreaking. They will appear in the Simonstown Magistrate’s Court.
In an unrelated incident, members of Kleinvlei SAPS arrested a 45-year-old, gang affiliated male suspect for pointing of a firearm in Park Street, Spandua, Eersteriver. On Wednesday 07 January 2026, members of Kleinvlei were patrolling and were stopped by community members. They reported that they were pointed with a firearm by a male suspect who is in a white Toyota Quantum. Police spotted the vehicle and searched the occupants. Members seized a 9mm pistol with 32 rounds of ammunition. Once charged, the suspect will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court.
