Yesterday, Mi7 teams patrolling the Copesville and Darjeeling Heights areas were alerted to an incident whereby two pedestrians were struck by a bakkie on the R33.
Mi7 teams immediately went to assist, and found that the driver had fled the scene.
The pedestrians involved were identified as a child, approximately 11 years old, and an adult female believed to be over 40 years of age. Luckily, the Mi7 Armed Response team that responded had basic medical training, and was able to assist until paramedics arrived.
Both patients were then taken to hospital for further care.
