Western Cape Flying Squad members arrested four suspects for firearm-related offences and conspiracy to commit kidnapping on Friday 26 June 2026.

The arrest is attributed to Crime Intelligence’s intervention and Flying Squad’s swift action. Members of the Flying Squad acted on information received about suspects in a silver Toyota Rumion vehicle, conspiring to kidnap a victim in Retreat. They spotted the motor vehicle at 11th Avenue, Retreat and conducted a search.

The members found an assault rifle with 18 rounds of ammunition and a pistol with seven rounds of ammunition. They also recovered a set of Eastern Cape license plates and a vanity bag containing seven rounds of rifle ammunition and two cellular telephones.

The four male suspects between the ages of 25 and 36 were arrested and will appear before the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday 29 June 2026.
