A woman in her late 30’s has been critically injured after she was allegedly knocked down by a passing motorist as she was walking along the R554 in Tedderfield AH, near Lenasia this morning, near the Vereeniging Road (R82).
It is not clear whether her and the friend she was walking with were trying to cross the road at the time, but the windshield of the blue hatchback that collided with her was broken right through. As paramedics arrived at the scene and performed their first assessments, it was noted that she had sustained multiple and very serious injuries. Her injuries included broken bones and a possible head injury. She was stabilised at the scene before being taken to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital by ambulance.
The woman’s friend and the driver of the vehicle were fortunately not injured in the collision.
