On Sunday morning, 17 August 2025, members of the Mitchell’s Plain Crime Prevention Unit responded to a complaint of a shooting in progress in Guernsey Street, Westridge, Mitchell’s Plain. Upon arrival on the scene, members received information on the whereabouts of the suspects. They followed up the information in the same street and search the identified premises. The members confiscated two firearms with ammunition.
Two suspects, aged 25 and 26, were arrested for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and will appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court once they have been charged.
