At approximately 16h50, PVES members responded to an assault incident in the Montana area involving a male patient who had sustained a deep and extensive laceration to his lower lumbar region.
Although the injury was not life-threatening, the patient required urgent bleeding control and would later need sutures. On scene, PVES members stabilized the patient and applied a haemostatic agent (valued at approximately R800) to manage active bleeding after standard dressings and bandages proved insufficient.
The patient was handed over to GPG and transported to hospital for further treatment.
