A 63-year-old woman was injured after being knocked by a vehicle while crossing the road at the intersection of Ireland Street & Todd Street in the Verulam CBD, KwaZulu-Natal today (Monday).
According to the driver of a blue Hyundai Venue, the traffic light was green as she proceeded through the intersection towards the Verulam CBD when the elderly pedestrian suddenly crossed the roadway. The driver attempted to avoid the pedestrian while also trying to evade oncoming traffic, but the front left bumper of the vehicle struck the woman. The pedestrian sustained blunt force trauma to her face and the left side of her body.
