The determination and collaboration between Olifantshoek police and two private security companies led to the apprehension of eight suspects, aged between 23 and 34, on Tuesday, 24 March 2026, in Olifantshoek.
Police received a complaint about suspicious persons who had been observed with housebreaking implements on a farm situated near Olifantshoek.
Police, together with members of the security companies, responded immediately.
Upon arrival, the members were directed by the farm owner to a mountain where a male individual allegedly ran and discarded tools.
The team intercepted the suspects as they were descending the mountain, attempting to evade arrest.
All eight suspects were arrested for being in possession of implements suspected to be housebreaking implements intended to commit a crime.
