DURBAN – Police in KwaZulu-Natal have intensified the fight against drug-related crime, resulting in the arrest of five suspected drug dealers aged between 20 and 35-years-old as well as the recovery of various narcotics during an intelligence-driven operation conducted in different areas of the eThekwini district on Friday, 19 December 2025
The first arrest was that of a 20-year-old suspect in Bayview area who was found with one hundred and eighty-three (183) capsules of heroin and Sixteen (16) pieces of rock cocain. The team proceed to KwaMashu ‘H’ section where they arrested a 26-year-old suspect who was found with filthy-four (54) wrappings and thirty-five (35) containers of cocain powder. Police also seized two (2) iPhones as well as one (1) Sumsang cellular phone.
Next on the police radar was a suspected drug dealer in Morningside. Unfortunately upon the police’s arrival at the premises, the suspect was not present, however police siezed various drugs such as rock cocain, cocain powder, crystal meth and mandrax tablets. The 38-year-old suspect in Phoenix could not evade the team as they pounced on him in his home unexpectedly. He was found with one hundred and fifty (150) mandrax tablets as well as fourteen (14) 9mm rounds of ammunition.
The last arrest of the operation was a 31-year-old suspect who was apprehended as he was about conduct a drug deal. He was found with rock cocain in his possession and was immediately placed under arrest.
All the arrest suspects are expected to make their first court on Monday, 22 December 2025.
