#OperationProsper led the members to arrest suspects and the uncovering of cocaine, tik, mandrax amongst other drugs, and firearms in separate incidents at Rosendal and Delft South on Tuesday, 19 May 2026 and Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
The members were busy with stop-and-search operations during the past 24 hours specifically in the Delft area. On Tuesday, 19 May 2026, in Cessna Street, members arrested a 25-year-old female suspect for possession of tik, as they found her with 29 grams of tik in her pockets. They then proceeded to Heinkel Street and at approximately 23:10, a 29-year-old male suspect was found in possession of 11 rounds of ammunition, and he was arrested accordingly.
The operation continued to Nielson Street at around 23:20 where members stopped a male and a female aged 18 and proceeded with the search, resulting in three sachets of tik, seven mandrax tablets, and seven ecstasy tablets found in their possession. The two suspects were arrested and detained at Delft SAPS. Furthermore, two female suspects aged 30 and 31 were found with 13.5 grams of tik and 11 sachets of tik in Auber Street, and they were arrested for possession thereof.
In a separate incident in the same street at about 23:45, a 34-year-old male suspect was found with a firearm and failed to provide a licence for it and was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm. Another male suspect, 30, was arrested for possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition in Aandblom Street at around 23:50. Subsequently, at approximately 01:30 on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, a 34-year-old male suspect in the same street was found with 57.8 grams of tik, 224 mandrax tablets and an undisclosed amount of cash, and he was arrested accordingly for dealing in drugs.
