During the early hours of 10 December 2025, Middelburg VISPOL together with the Crime Prevention Unit, and the Dog Unit arrested five suspects aged between 18 and 30 for alleged possession and dealing in drugs. Two of the suspects will additionally face charges of possession of suspected stolen property.
It is alleged that information was received on Tuesday, 09 December 2025 about a male in possession of and dealing in drugs at a known homestead at Middleburg. The team proceeded to the said address and upon arrival at the address two males aged 18 and 25 were found in the house. Drugs in the form of mandrax and tik were recovered and an undisclosed amount of cash was confiscated. An electric grinder and a police bulletproof vest cover were also recovered.
The duo will face charges of possession and dealing in drugs and as well as possession of suspected stolen property.
The information led to another address of an alleged well-known drug dealer and tik was recovered. Two suspects aged 28 and 30 were also arrested. They will face charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
The four suspects are detained at Middelburg Police Station and will be processed to appear in the Magistrate’s court.
