A murder and two counts of attempted murder are being investigated, following a shooting in Kraaifontein where an 11-year-old girl was shot and fatally wounded and an eight-year-old girl and a 20-year-old male injured on Tuesday, 19 August 2025 in Wallacedene, .
This morning, 20 August 2025, members received information about the firearm used in this incident was stored on a premises in Mapongwana Street, Wallacedene. They operationalised the information and searched the identified premises where they confiscated a 9mm pistol with serial number removed and 11 rounds of ammunition.
A 26-year-old male was arrested for possession of a prohibited firearm and ammunition.
The suspect is expected to make his court appearance in the Bluedowns Magistrates’ court once charged.
