Just before 08:00 the Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call for a patient who was found floating in a swimming pool in the Garsfontein area of Pretoria east. On arrival we found a elderly patient, who was removed from the water by SAPS water rescue personnel, showing no signs of life and was declared as deceased on arrival.
SAPS opened an investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
