A man tragically drowned at the Port Edward main beach this afternoon at around 14h20. Reports indicate that the man went swimming and got into difficulty, Life guards and the NSRI pulled him from the sea and started resuscitation.
Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and continued to resuscitate the patient for some time. Tragically despite all their efforts the man was declared dead at the scene.
