A man is fighting for his life after he was found floating face down in the sea at Sea Point in Cape Town yesterday afternoon at around 13h30. Reports indicate that when the paramedics arrived at the scene they found that that a man was face down in the water near the wall and was being pounded by the waves in a very rough sea.
Netcare 911 paramedics immediately without hesitation waded into the treacherous seas up to their waste to get to the critically injured man. Once there the turned the patient around and then immobilized him before he was removed from the surf.
Once paramedics got the patient out of the water an advanced life support paramedic placed the man on a ventilator. After he was stabilised at the scene they transported him to a specialised facility for the care that he required.
