Seven people were left injured this morning during an alleged chemical leak at a company on Beryllium Road in Alrode, south of Johannesburg.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene shortly after 08h30 and found several people seated in the parking lot of the company.
Paramedics immediately assessed the patients and found that seven men were experiencing difficulty in breathing, along with other ailments.
The patients were immediately treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to a nearby private hospital for urgent care.
It is understood that the men had been working on a tanker when there was apparently a gas leak. The men were quickly evacuated to the nearby parking lot.
Local authorities will be investigating further.
