SAPS Kariega opened an inquest after two toddlers drowned in a swimming pool in Kariega earlier on Friday 31 October 2025.
According to information gathered at approximately 11:00 the SAPS members responded to a complaint of a drowning in Len Bason Street, Kariega. On arrival they found two toddler boys Cairo-Asher Sauls (3) and Shyloh Sauls (2) (cousins) already taken out of the pool by a 12-year-old cousin. Both toddlers passed away.
An inquest investigation is ongoing.
