Members of the Anti-Gang Unit deployed in the Cloetesville area to combat gang related crime arrested two suspects when they searched a premises in Vredelust on Tuesday, 16 December 2025.
The members searched a premises in Primrose Street, and found 32 rounds of ammunition in the house. They arrested two adult males for the illegal possession of ammunition.
In an unrelated intervention, members of Hopefield SAPS followed up information of a person who is selling drugs at a premises in Graniet Close. They searched the identified premises and found 32 mandrax tablets hidden on the premises. An adult male was arrested for the possession of mandrax tablets.
Once charged, the suspects will make their respective court appearances in Stellenbosch and Hopefield.
