An elderly man was robbed while walking along Greenwood Close in Parkgate, KwaZulu-Natal this afternoon (Tuesday).
The 62-year-old Pensioner was en route to his residence when he was approached by an unknown female who requested assistance and asked to borrow R5. While attempting to help, the man removed the contents of his pocket to search for the requested amount.
At the time, he was holding a R100 note and his SASSA card. The female suspect snatched the cash and SASSA card from the man’s hand and fled the scene on foot.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to the incident and conducted a search for the suspect. However, the female could not be located and remains at large.
