A 48-year-old man arrived at Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Headquarters after he was robbed on Todd Street in the Verulam CBD, KwaZulu-Natal today (Saturday).
The victim informed Reaction Officers that he was accosted by four (4) suspects shortly after leaving the ATM. One (1) of the suspects was allegedly armed with a knife. The suspects robbed him of R5,000 in cash, which he had withdrawn minutes earlier.
They also took his blue Soviet sling bag containing his wallet, driver’s licence and identity document. The victim was still in possession of his cellphone when he reported the incident. He stated that upon noticing the suspects approaching, he threw his cellphone into nearby bushes and retrieved it after the suspects fled the scene.
No injuries were reported.
