A 21-year-old female was bitten by a snake while walking to an outside toilet in Coniston – KZN this evening (Wednesday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call for assistance at approximately 20:03. On arrival, Reaction Officers interviewed the victim who reported that she stepped over a snake while walking towards the outside toilet.
The woman was unable to identify the species of the snake but described it as black in colour. The reptile struck the female on her right leg before slithering into nearby bushes. The female complained of dizziness but did not display any other symptoms at the time.
She was privately transported to hospital for further medical treatment.
