On Monday afternoon at approximately 12:30, the CERT Vaal team assisted the Midvaal Fire Department with the removal of a snake from an elderly couple’s bathroom.
The juvenile Brown House Snake was safely located and removed without incident, with assistance from one of our operational support crew members who is trained in snake handling and snakebite treatment. The snake was released into a suitable natural environment later in the day.
We would like to extend appreciation to all responders involved for their swift assistance in ensuring the safety of both the residents and the animal.
This incident once again highlights the value of having a multi-skilled operational team, enabling CERT to respond effectively across a wide range of emergency and support situations.
